Join us as we explore beliefs around the creation of our world through the lens of Darwin’s Theory of Evolution. Often positioned as opposing belief systems, you will hear personal and professional insights from a lifetime of helping people grapple with how humankind came to “be” in God’s image. There will be ample time for questions. Our guest lecturer, the Reverend Dr. David Kidd, taught anthropology before sensing God’s overwhelming call to pursue a life of Christian service, and eventually becoming a Presbyterian pastor. He served congregations in rural Appalachia and at Nashville’s Hillsboro Presbyterian Church for more than 37 years and has taught at Belmont University in the College of Theology and Christian Ministry. Pastor Kidd has both a Masters and Doctorate in Divinity. We will serve pizza and drinks starting at 6pm so you can come right after work. Childcare will be provided for toddlers through age 8. Babies and older children are welcome to stay with their parents.
Telos is growing and changing in exciting ways. Please join us Sunday mornings at 9am in the sanctuary of Southminster Presbyterian. We’ll gather for worship and a brunch potluck in the Fellowship Hall. We’re generally done before 11:00 a.m.
On Sunday, March 3rd, we will welcome Adam and Emily Johnson as members of Telos, celebrate the baptisms of Adam and Obie, and reaffirm with Emily her own baptism, as we celebrate being a family of faith.
