FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 1 st – It’s Movie Night! Our next worship series uses a lot of references from the movie, “It’s a Wonderful Life.” Clearly – we needed to give you all a chance to watch it. And THAT sounded like a chance to have some fun! We’ll gather just after 6-ish, have some pizza, popcorn and other surprises as we watch the movie. For those who have seen it enough to be “over” it, we’ll have some “It’s a Wonderful Life” Bingo with prizes. For those who haven’t seen it – this is your chance to right a wrong! And – we’ll have childcare folks on hand to help the kids enjoy their own movie. Or – if you want to be up to speed on the movie but can’t come on Friday and can’t watch it on your own before then – here’s a handy-dandy plot summary: https://www.filmsite.org/itsa3.html
Join us to try out your wonderful Halloween costumes and spend time with your neighbors. We’ll have food and treats along with a bounce house and face painting. Bring a friend. Saturday, October 26, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the back parking lot. We look forward to seeing you!
Join us as we explore beliefs around the creation of our world through the lens of Darwin’s Theory of Evolution. Often positioned as opposing belief systems, you will hear personal and professional insights from a lifetime of helping people grapple with how humankind came to “be” in God’s image. There will be ample time for questions. Our guest lecturer, the Reverend Dr. David Kidd, taught anthropology before sensing God’s overwhelming call to pursue a life of Christian service, and eventually becoming a Presbyterian pastor. He served congregations in rural Appalachia and at Nashville’s Hillsboro Presbyterian Church for more than 37 years and has taught at Belmont University in the College of Theology and Christian Ministry. Pastor Kidd has both a Masters and Doctorate in Divinity. We will serve pizza and drinks starting at 6pm so you can come right after work. Childcare will be provided for toddlers through age 8. Babies and older children are welcome to stay with their parents.
